FLOORING

Many of the older homes in our area had Heart Pine flooring both inside and on lanais and porches. Over the years, wear and tear, termites and water damage may have taken its toll on yours. We have recreated the most common sizes used for pine flooring and mill it on-site from high quality Southern Yellow Pine. Many of our customers have been able to recreate the look of “old pine flooring” by doing a little research for finishing techniques on the internet. So, whether you want to put in an entire new pine floor or just replace a few specific boards, we can help. Lengths are generally available from 8’-16’.

We carry very little reclaimed or heart-pine flooring. Although we do have some, we have found that the quality of these boards and the damage done by nails, stains and water over the years just prohibits us from keeping much in stock. If it is just a few pieces you need, come by and pick through what we have. You might just find that hidden gem you need for a small repair.

Anderson Lumber is your go-to location for Red or White Oak flooring. We commonly sell it in bundles of random lengths of ¾”x2-1/4” wide. Bundles cover 19.5 square feet.

Maple, Ipe, Brazilian Cherry and Walnut bundles are also available in various widths. And as with our other custom milled items, we can create flooring in a variety of species and sizes.

Cedar, Cypress and Ipe are common decking materials. With Ipe, we carry a 5/4 x 6” board with grooved edges for clips. We also carry the clips. We do have a Pressure Treated Product called KDAT* that is available for use as decking. Sapele is another good option. Often used in lieu of Teak by boaters, Sapele is a beautiful, dark, red, wood with some beautiful characteristics. It weathers well and would bring a contemporary and mid-century appearance to almost any home.

As mentioned several times, please look at our online catalog of profiles HERE.

Besides having hundreds of uncommon and hard-to-find profiles available, we also have more common items such as backband, sills, dowels, handrails, bar rails and trim. Most of our items in-stock are either made from Southern Yellow Pine or Poplar.

We can mill any of these items from any of our woods in stock. Want Walnut Crown Moulding, chair rail and base board? No problem! Want Cherry picture rail or Sapele fluted casing? We can do it. Because we make our own knives on the premises, we can match virtually any shape you want. We are limited to 8-1/2” on over-all width, but we can develop solutions if wider sizes are desired.

We also make large architectural corbels and rafter tails from square stock and have a resource available for their production if a specific order is beyond our capability.

We do no turning such as columns or finials.

Standard sized stair treads are also available for order or can be custom made. Bullnoses, risers and returns can be ordered as well. Spiral stair case treads, generally made from Western Red Cedar, are a common custom order we produce.
