Domestic Hardwood

Our Domestic Hardwoods

As with our domestic soft woods, our hardwood supply is readily available. Hardwoods however, often come in “random” widths and/or lengths and are generally rough cut, requiring milling to make them finished. Additionally, many of the hardwoods are more difficult to get in wide boards, but our ability to do glue-ups generally negates this issue. Vertical grain, Rift or quarter sawn items are more elusive. If your project calls for a special milling, please let us know in advance and we will check availability.

Standard Hardwood stock includes:

  • Alder
  • Ash
  • Basswood
  • Beech
  • Birch
  • Cherry
  • Hickory
  • Maple – Hard and Soft, Curly, Tiger, Spalted, Birdseye
  • Oak – Red and White, Quarter and Rift Sawn when available
  • Walnut

Reclaimed Woods

Anderson Lumber carries a limited supply of reclaimed woods. In our effort to supply the best quality products to our customers, over the years we have found that procuring reclaimed woods of quality is both difficult and costly. Nails, old spikes, internal wood rot and other unseen damage makes reclaimed not cost-effective to either our customers or to us.

There are many reclaimed wood specialists out there, and we invite you to contact them. For a small piece, or for a limited selection, you are welcome to come see what we have.

On rare occasions, we are able to secure heart pine flooring boards and pieces. We do have a limited quantity in stock
